Chief Ironside and his assistants Ed Brown, Eve Whitfield and Mark Sanger solve the case of the missing pictures. A ealthy man sent his paintings to be auctioned. When the driver and his companion went to unpack the crates they found them empty. The chief and his team found that there wasn't time for the truck to stop between the home of the person sending the paintings and the auctionhouse. It is a good read. If you have ever watched any of the Ironside television shows it is similar.
